Rabbi Noam Katz visits the ECC

Rabbi Noam concert 2012-01-27 003This morning, Rabbi Noam Katz treated the ECC and HDS to a concert, and then he sat in with ECC songleader Josh Grekin to help us welcome Shabbat with song.

Rabbi Noam concert 2012-01-27 002Rabbi Noam, as he introduced himself, is a long-time song leader and teacher, who now serves as the Rabbi of a day school in Toronto, and the director of a Jewish overnight camp.  In 2004, Rabbi Noam spent the winter of 2004 with the Abayudaya, the small Jewish community of Uganda.  His music has been influenced by his time with the Abayudaya, and he shared with us some of his Abayudaya-influenced songs.  For more information about Rabbi Noam, go to http://www.NoamKatz.com.  For more pictures of Rabbi Noam’s time with us, go to http://jccecc.shutterfly.com

The Jewish Educators Council of Ann Arbor, with support from Jewish Federation, brought Rabbi Noam here to spend time with the Jewish schools of the community.  We certainly enjoyed his time with us!
